Inspiration: Barbie, Rhinestones, Childhood
The fashion show madness continues and I have to admit that I haven’t enjoyed the shows this much in many seasons. I’m also starting to notice a few patterns in the silhouettes that I’ve been selecting as highlights from the shows. It doesn’t surprise me that I’m loving the bell skirts with super cinched waists because it’s a flattering shape for my figure.
Although I’ve talked about toning down my wardrobe’s rainbow for fall, I love the vibrant hues that I’ve seen on the runways for Spring. The greens, blues, and yellows especially. They remind me of things that I loved in childhood- Barbie, the beach, and rhinestones.
Being broke and having a voracious appetite for fashion, I think I need to get back into my diy craft projects. In fact, I’m thinking about breaking out the bedazzler and making myself a James Coviello inspired cardigan.

I love the mixed prints at Anna Sui and the explosions of color at Milly by Michelle Smith. It seems like bohemian styles are here to stay- whether you’re super girly or have more of a rock edge. I’ve been very impressed by the interpretations that I’ve seen thus far- a lot of creativity. Not to mention immaculate tailoring at 3.1 Phillip Lim and Carlos Miele.
