13.Jan.2009 Current Obsession: Martin Margiela
So after my post about Lady Gaga, I couldn’t stop thinking about her style and how I was really into it. I even spent a hearty portion of yesterday trying to find the black hoodie that she was wearing in the “The Fame- Part One” video but didn’t have any luck. [AN:I now suspect it's a blazer + head scarf combo.]
I was disappointed, but thennnnn, Melanie sent me a link to Lady Gaga’s performance on the Tonight Show and I started to suspect that I had seen many of her clothes before- only I couldn’t quite place them. The bare feet/nude tights were just so familiar- it was really starting to bug me.
Thankfully, I happened upon Lulu’s post on Lulu And Your Mom about Maison Martin Margiela and it all started to come together! Thatttttssss where I had seen Lady Gaga’s wardrobe!
After a lengthy browsing of Margiela ’s runway shows and a quick google search, I realized I was probably the last person on earth (or at least the fashion blogger world) to make the connection. It also doesn’t hurt that Lady Gaga talks about loving Margiela in interviews.

Anyway, my search wasn’t in vain and that’s all that matters- I’m becoming really intrigued by Maison Martin Margiela as a result of all of this. I’m also convinced that his clothes should be the official uniform of my badass girl posse.
