14.Jan.2009 DIY: American Apparel Circle Scarf

Victory is mine! I didn’t have to go out and buy a head scarf like I had talked about in a few of my posts this week. Last month, I read a really simple diy tutorial for the American Apparel circle scarf on Chic Inspector and decided to give it a try this afternoon. There was just no way in hell that I’m gonna pay $28 for a tube of fabric when I have tons of scraps laying around the house.

I found an old curtain that I had from my sophomore year of college and cut off the tabs and sewed the two ends together.

Dunzo.

It was just that simple but if you want more specifics check out Chic Inspector’s tutorial. I think my scarf turned out pretty well and I love that it’s kind of gauzy – it will look great with a black t-shirt dress (my favorite!).

I’m off to make one for Melanie now!
