My love for Hole was one of the few good things to come out of the 6th grade.

naima and i spoke at length about hole the other day. mostly the songs malibu and celebrity skin, actually, since she was more of a kurt cobain fan and courtney love was too freaky for me when i was in middle school.
I totally embraced Courtney’s strangeness. I thought she was terrifically deep and really understood me and what I was going through: being an awkward brown girl at a white Episcopalian prep school in DC…lolz.
