GIMME GIMME: Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2010
I’d like to revisit a collection that didn’t earn much acclaim from the experts but made my heart sing – the Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2010 collection. In the last week or so, I’ve spent a remarkable amount of time flipping through photos of the collection and daydreaming about Spring. While it may not be a groundbreaking collection, it’s realistic. It’s almost exactly what I aspire to for Spring. And most importantly, it makes me very very happy!

What could be more practical than wearing a sweater to keep warm? A really rad, colorfully patterned sweater. Preferably one that reminds you of the Cosby kids (Rudy in particular).

This is one of my favorite casual looks for summer. It doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard because you’re not. All you’ve done is tuck a t-shirt into a skirt and slapped a belt over it. Instant success. Bonus points if you can create killer color combinations like these.

These shorts are the standard by which I will judge all other shorts this Spring/Summer. Loyal readers will remember my theory about Marc Jacobs stalking my childhood photos for inspiration. Well, I emailed a link to my mother just to confirm that I indeed did own a pair like the ones in the middle during my childhood.

The outfit at right might be my favorite look of Spring 2010. I realize that’s a bold statement to make but I’m serious. It hits just about every mark on my “currently craving” checklist. Evidence:
- Huge hair bow – CHECK
- Oversized Sunglasses – CHECK
- Waist Cinching Belt – CHECK
- Purse with X-tra long cross body strap – CHECK
- Faded Prints – CHECK
- Rolled Ankle Exposing Cuff – CHECK
- Oxford inspired shoes – CHECK

I like that so many Marc by Marc Jacobs looks have a DIY feel. It seems like you would only need to invest in a few new pieces to create the looks. Maybe those awesome shoes?
I think I will have to “borrow” some items off your checklist to add to my wardrobe arsenal. Loving your site btw!!
