Have I posted this video before? Even if I have, I don’t mind posting it again. I’m pretty sure that I could listen to Paolo Nutini sing all day every day and this video always makes me chuckle.

You’ve got to love catalogs/lookbooks that rival magazine editorials.

Tuesday night, my friend Josh and I went on an H&M adventure. We were looking for a snazzy new coat for him. They were having a ridiculous sale – coats were 50% off and on top of that they were buy one get one free! Neither of us bought one. Or got one free. The bogo ended the next day. I went back on Thursday afternoon and begrudgingly bought this coat after a full hour of agonizing. And for the record, this image should have been color corrected because the stripes are barely even visible on the actual coat! It’s also a much darker color of gray. For the record.

I’m kind of obsessed with the way that the coat transforms my wardrobe. You can’t really tell from this strange photo (it looks very different in person?) but I’m pretty sure it’s a modified “A-line swing coat” with a really great pleat detail in the back. But..um.. the more I type, the more worried I become. Did I make a mistake? Am I only imagining the stripes to be more faded and the shape of the coat to be more vintage?? Why am I blogging at 3am?
edit// wow, fixed the grammar on that image. 3am blogging is a hot mess.

Passion Pit was on the cover of NY Metro yesterday.
It brought a smile to my face.

Dear Duncan Phyfe,
If I could go back in time to the mid 1800s and somehow not have it be weird, I’d totally ask you to build me some furniture. I’m kind of obsessed with this mahogany sofa that you made in…1810(?). If the Metropolitan Museum of Art wouldn’t have me arrested, I’d sprawl right out. I don’t care if people think that you’ve been given too much hype and couldn’t possibly have created as many pieces as you get credit for. Haters to the left. Just wanted to let you know that.
Your Admirer,
Jillian
