I am so excited for this collaboration because Isabel Toledo is one of my favorite designers. She describes the collection as being “pure Toledo — playful, bold and strong”. She also adds that the heels were designed to be comfortable as she has a love for walking. I’m always in the market for a good walking heel. Can’t wait until September!

Starting with the look at left: I didn’t know that I needed a tuxedo bodysuit but I do. It actually solves so many of my wardrobe issues that it’s kind of absurd — and no, I don’t blame you for being confused or skeptical of that statement. I only ask that you suspend your disbelief and allow yourself to believe this strange truth. The skirt isn’t bad either, it looks like a more refined version of a paperbag skirt that I loved a few seasons back but never managed to purchase.

My friends know that I absolutely cherish children’s books. If wouldn’t be misconstrued, I would spend all of my free time curled up on a bean bag chair in children’s section of the library…

Instead, I will settle for drooling over Where The Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony. Spike Jonze, the director of the, soon to be released!, film adaptation of Maurice Sendak‘s Where the Wild Things Are, collaborated with Opening Ceremony to create a faux-fur collection inspired by the book!They also brought in Pamela Love to design jewelry for the collection. I have to say, whoever thought of this idea should be friends with me – immediately!

What a stylish dream world!

As expected, the prices are quite steep and I know that I won’t be able to afford any of the furs but I will look at the pieces longingly and imagine myself running through a forest with them on. In this particular fantasy, I also live in a tree house, forage for nuts and berries for sustenance and weave rugs on a huge outdoor loom.

That’s the text message that I got yesterday from one of my favorite fashionistas, Miss Esther. It definitely brightened an otherwise gloomy day!

I remember reading about the collection a couple of months ago but I suppose it slipped my mind that October 1 was the big release date.

The Uniqlo website is rather mysterious and so I think I’ll be pencilling in a visit to the Soho shop for this weekend. Have any of you seen the collection in person? Thoughts? Are you as in love with it as Esther?
